Bayern Munich have joined the race to land Palermo defender Simon Kjaer.
Manchester United are believed to be keen to bring in the Denmark international as cover for their injury-hit defensive stocks but the German outfit have emerged as potential suitors for the 20-year old.
Kjaer, who has also been linked with Chelsea, Manchester City, Juventus and Inter Milan, is believed to be keen to make the move to England but United will have to act quickly if they are to secure him in January.
His contract with Palermo expires in 2013 but there is an £11million buyout clause and the fact there are fears Nemanja Vidic may leave Old Trafford in 2012 makes Kjaer the perfect target.
