Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has made it clear he wants a new centre-half signing this summer.
The Telegraph says Spurs football chief Fabio Paratici has already drawn up a three-man shortlist to work on leading up to the next transfer window.
Sven Botman (Lille), Josko Gvardiol (RB Leipzig) and Alessandro Bastoni (Inter Milan) are the three defenders in question.
Conte is close to Bastoni, having brought the Italy international to Inter from Atalanta before winning last season's Scudetto.
Botman has confirmed offers in January from Newcastle and AC Milan, while Gvardiol is in his first season in Germany after arriving last summer from Dinamo Zagreb.
