Barton, social media up for debate at QPR

QPR chief Phillip Beard admits social media is on the agenda as powerbrokers discuss plans for next season.

Joey Barton's future was due to be discussed by the club yesterday as the hierarchy meet to consider their plans for next season.

Beard said: "We start planning for next season immediately and we will look at the squad and the business we want to do in the transfer market. I am meeting today with [manager] Mark Hughes, our technical director Mike Rigg, [chairman] Tony Fernandes and [vice-chairman] Amit Bhatia.

"Joey is part of a 25-man squad. We will look at every part of the club and at individual players. We will review our processes and how we work with players.

"Social media is very firmly on the agenda so we can work with our players better to understand what they need to think about."
