Barry remains positive despite Man City's loss to Real Madrid

Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry is maintaining a positive outlook despite his sides heart-breaking loss to Real Madrid last night.

The English champions surrendered a 2-1 lead in the 85th minute to eventually lose 3-2 in their Champions League opener at the Santiago Bernabeu but Barry is not getting down on their performance despite three points being in their pocket with just minutes remaining.

"We played a good game and there are a lot of positives but overall we are disappointed," the England international said.

"Playing away is always tough in the Champions League. To have got so close to the three points is disappointing but there is great stuff we can take from it."

He added: "We matched them and on another day could have come away with the three points.

"I am sure it will be a great game when they come to the Etihad Stadium but before that we have to try to make sure we get some points on the board."
