Former New York Red Bulls striker John Rooney has completed his move to Barnsley.

Tykes manager Keith Hill had hoped to complete the deal last week, but the move was delayed due to paperwork.

Like elder brother Wayne Rooney, the Manchester United star, John started out as a trainee at Everton before eventually moving to the 'States, where he played for NYRB and Adrian Heath's Orlando City.
