Barnsley manager Simon Davey has refused to give up on bringing Everton midfielder Anderson De Silva back to Oakwell.
Davey clinched the services of Jon Macken in a permanent deal on Monday and has not ruled out the possibility of De Silva returning after both impressed during loan spells late last year.
Davey said: "We'd love to take Anderson back, but it's in the hands of Everton.
"We've been in constant contact with Everton, so we'll have to see, but we haven't ruled it out.
"I've still to have another conversation with Everton and we'll wait and see what they say."
