Barcelona have moved to trump Real Madrid for Getafe midfielder Pedro Leon.
It was claimed last week that Leon was on his way to Madrid after terms had been agreed between the two clubs.
However, Barca have made their interest known in the last 24 hours and are willing to meet Leon's €10 million buyout clause. Barca coach Pep Guardiola is desperate for a wide player after being frustrated in a bid for Valencia winger David Silva.
For their part, Real are offering cash plus Pedro Mosquera in exchange.
