Barcelona striker David Villa was happy with a winning return at Valencia.
Lionel Messi scored the only goal as Primera Division leaders Barcelona scraped a 1-0 win at Valencia.
"It's an important victory because the Mestalla is a difficult and complicated place [to play]," said Villa.
"I'm very happy because the people here gave me great affection. I have only words of gratitude for them."
Commenting on the Liga title race, the 29-year-old stated, "A lot remains to be played in the league and we have to win no matter how others fare.
"The further we are, the better. We have the privilege of relying on ourselves."
