Barcelona striker Memphis Depay has hinted he expects to stay this new season.

Depay joined Barcelona on a free transfer after his contract with Lyon expires and after a season in which he ended as the club's equal top scorer, he's desperate for the next campaign to start.

"This season is about to be scary watch," the Dutch forward wrote on social media on Wednesday.

In his first message on social media on Thursday, he said: "I see how certain tactics been played around me as a football player.

"It's all good, God likes this about me.. that's why I'm favored.

"My whole life I wasn't good enough, didn't apply to the standard looks and didn't have the right behavior.

"That's what happens when you live freely."
