Barcelona star Lionel Messi's left foot has been cast in pure gold.

A pure gold replica of Messi's left foot was unveiled in Japan this Wednesday. The sculpture, which was made to scale, was fabricated from a mold of the Argentinian's foot. The 25 kilograms sculpture, aptly titled 'Golden Foot,' was unveiled in a famous jewelry shop in Tokyo. It will sell for €4 million and part of the proceeds will be donated to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami that hit the Asian country in 2001.

Rodrigo Messi, Leo's brother, attended the unveiling of the sculpture. In addition to the 'Golden Foot,' the 'Golden Foot Plate' - a signed limited edition cast of Messi's footprint -was also unveiled.
