Barcelona star Lionel Messi is on the brink of breaking a 60 year-old Spanish scoring record.
Messi's winner against Champions League opponents Shakhtar Donetsk was his 48th goal of the season.
Telmo Zarra scored the same number of goals in the 1950-51 campaign, but Messi is likely to increase his tally and break the record during the remainder of the season.
Last season, Messi totalled 47 goals, matching the record set by Ferenc Puskas in a Real Madrid shirt in 1959-60 and also equalled the feat set by Ronaldo with Barcelona in 1996-97.
