Spanish giants Barcelona have recently shown interest in Sebastian Giovinco.

That is according to the Toronto FC star's agent who has revealed that the Catalan club did make contact with him regarding a potential move in the wake of his stellar debut MLS season which produced 22 goals.

"There was interest, but nothing too in-depth," agent Andrea D'Amico said on Rai Sport's Zona 11 show about the Barcelona interest.

"It's a little amazing that these kinds of teams didn't get in touch with him before he went on his adventure in North America.

"But right now he's concentrated on his decision [to play for Toronto FC]."
