Barcelona, PSG to continue Marquinhos transfer talks in Brazil

Officials from Barcelona and PSG are meeting in Brazil to finalise terms over a deal for Marquinhos.

Barca see the young defender as a replacement for retired captain Carles Puyol and negotiations, having been opened earlier this month, will continue over the first week of the World Cup in Brazil.

Powerbrokers from both clubs are attending the tournament and with the bulk of negotiations complete, officials are comfortable about finalising the deal while in Rio.

Barca chief Raul Sanllehí is already in Brazil and will soon be joined by a top executive to oversee the talks. On PSG's part, president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is due in the country in the coming days.

Even Marquinhos is currently at home, in Sao Paulo, for his summer break and is available to meet with Sanllehí if required.
