Alejandro Balde is on the brink of signing a new contract with Barcelona.

The wing-back has been a revelation for Xavi's Barca this season, becoming a first-choice.

Sport says talks over a new deal have been ongoing for some months, with an agreement now close.

Balde has a deal to 2024 with a buyout clause set at €500m.

The new agreement will now run to 2027, with Barca eager to lock Balde in amid growing interest from England.
