Barcelona midfielder Sergi Busquets wasn't surprised to hear of Ajax stunning Juventus in their Champions League quarterfinal.

Busquets and Barca enjoyed a comfortable night against Manchester United as Ajax were winning in Turin.

"Juventus were a favourite [to win it all], but it's not a surprise [that they're out]," he said.

"Ajax are a spectacular team.

"They're showing their merits and if they're in the semi-finals it's because they've earned it."

Speaking about his own side's success, Busquets is pleased to be back in the semi-finals.

"We haven't been there for three years," he said.

"But we didn't have any negative thoughts. We knew we had a good result.

"Now, we're happy to be back in the semi-finals, but we have to keep going."
