Barcelona are losing patience over their pursuit of Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.
The London Evening Standard says Barca are preparing an improved offer for Fabregas after an initial £30million bid was dismissed last month. Barca will use the money received from the sale of Yaya Toure to Manchester City to fund a fresh offer in the region of £35m.
Arsene Wenger has repeatedly stated Arsenal have no intention of selling the 23-year-old despite several of his Spain team-mates insisting the midfielder's "heart is already at Barcelona".
Fabregas's future remains uncertain but boss Wenger is hopeful of keeping his captain at the club for at least one more season. New Barcelona president Sandro Rosell appointed Andoni Zubizarreta as their technical director, replacing Txiki Begiristain, and it was immediately reiterated that Fabregas was their top target.
Little progress has been made in recent weeks and although their apparent frustration could be interpreted as posturing in an attempt to drive Fabregas's price down, Toure's departure heightens Barca's need to sign a central midfielder.
