Barcelona, Inter Milan great Eto'o stands up for racism

Samuel Eto'o has been honoured for his outstanding work against racism.

The 33-year old Cameroon striker received the European Medal of Tolerance from the European Council on Tolerance and Reconciliation at a dinner at Kensington Palace in London.

Former Mallorca, Inter Milan, Chelsea and Everton attacker Eto'o was praised by ECTR president Moshe Kantor for devoting himself to the cause.

Sampdoria's Eto'o recalled a monumental moment in his career when playing for Barcelona against Real Zaragoza back in 2005 when he was the subject of monkey chants.

"Since that day, I decided to stand up and fight against all the abuses either in the stadium or outside the stadium," said Eto'o.
