Barcelona's board are willing to listen to offers for their superstar Lionel Messi, it has been revealed. Both Chelsea and Manchester City have been linked with record-breaking bids of £200 million for the Argentine in the past week.
And despite breaking goalscoring records in the La Liga and Champions League in recent days, Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu is prepared to sell, reports Cadena Cope.
Bartomeu has told agents close to Barca to begin sounding out clubs across Europe about a willingness to meet their valuation for Messi. Manchester United, PSG and Arsenal are also among those sounded out.
In Argentina, meanwhile, DirecTV reports Chelsea are emerging as the most likely destination for Messi next season.
After it emerged last week that Messi has been taking English language lessons, DirecTV says Chelsea and sponsors adidas are coming together to fund a deal for the Argentine.
Bartomeu isn't actively seeking to sell the multiple Ballon d'Or winner, but if an offer of €250 million arrives, the deal will be done.
