Barcelona great Dani Alves has rejected an offer from Botafogo in his native Brazil.
The veteran is eager to fulfill the current contract he has with Pumas UNAM.
According to UOL Esporte, Botafogo made an approach looking to secure Alves' services for the 2023 season, however, the 39-year-old Brazilian declined the offer as his initial objective is to play in the 2023 Liga MX Clausura which gets underway in January.
“In recent days, the veteran player received a proposal from Botafogo which the player ruled out as really wants to fulfil the current contact with Mexican side through to June 2023″, the Brazilian website claimed.
Alves was part of the Brazilian team that played in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, participating in two matches, one of them as a starter and captain.
