Barcelona fullback Daniel Alves wants to join Manchester City. The Daily Star reports the Brazil defender is out of contract next summer and has told the Spanish giants he wants to leave on a free.

That could spark a scramble for his signature, with Manchester United and Liverpool both interested.

But Alves sees Premier League champions City as his preferred destination because he knows many of the Etihad hierarchy from their time at Barcelona.
