Sampdoria are ready to take advantage of Barcelona's transfer ban.
Sport says Samp are in talks with Vojvodina for Srdan Babic, who was all set to join Barca this month.
Babic, whose father Goran played in Spain with Celta Vigo, held several meetings with Barca about joining the B team in January. But the deal fell through after FIFA's transfer ban was upheld on appeal from Barca before Christmas.
Vojvodina need to sell immediately and are seeking €2 million for Babic, who along with Samp, is also interesting Manchester United.
United goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic is currently playing on loan with Vojvodina.
