Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu was booed by the Nou Camp crowd on Saturday. Fans stayed after the final whistle for victory over Sevilla to pay tribute to Lionel Messi after his record breaking hat-trick.
Marca reports during the Messi presentation, a video was displayed on the big screens.
The fans applauded fervently when the likes of Xavi, Andrés Iniesta and Sergi Busquets were shown on screen, but the cheers quickly turned to hearty boos as soon as Bartomeu and sports director Andoni Zubizarreta appeared.
Bartomeu later remarked: "We're a democratic club and the fans have the right to voice their opinions. It's true that we've got a lot of problems right now, with FIFA, legal proceedings, the tax authorities and so on, and that could explain the booing."
