Barcelona have dropped all interest in Olympique Lyon star Karim Benzema.

Barca sports chief Txiki Begiristain went well down the road with Lyon officials last year over a deal for Benzema.

But Catalan sources say Barca's board have pulled the plug on all talks for Benzema and will focus all efforts on prising David Villa away from Valencia in the summer.
