Barcelona defender Garcia rejects critics; talks Torres and Pique struggles

Barcelona defender Eric Garcia insists he can handle his critics.

Garcia appeared at a press conference at Las Rozas ahead of Spain's UEFA Nations League matches against Switzerland and Portugal.

The defender said, "Criticism doesn't affect me, I had to get used to it at first, when it does surprise you a bit, but in the end you understand what this is all about. You have to listen to those who are always with you and listen to the coaches, who are the ones who know the most."

Of another questioned player, Ferran Torres, he pointed out: "It is also a matter of getting used to it. Ferran Torres has proved himself throughout his career. You have to see the teams he has been in, his numbers are spectacular. There is no doubt about him. Sometimes the ball does not go in, but he is confident, I see him well, working well and when you have the right mentality, things work out by themselves."

On Barca teammate Gerard Piqué, he added: "Gerard has been one of the three best centre-backs in history that I have seen, having him as a team-mate is a very good thing, when he has minutes he will show the level he has, he is world class."
