Barcelona midfielder Ibrahim Afellay will undergo surgery on Monday.

Afellay tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during training a week ago and the Holland international will go under the knife at 1400 local time on Monday.

Barca have not indicated how long the 25-year-old will be sidelined for.

Afellay, who joined Barca from PSV Eindhoven in January, had only just got back into Pep Guardiola's line-up after missing the start of the Primera Division season due to a hamstring injury.
