Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde has played down the prospect of moving for Carlos Vela.

The LAFC star has been linked with a January loan move to Barca.

But Valverde said of the former Real Sociedad striker: "I remember there was a possibility last year.

"We are not yet in the opening period of the transfer window, but we are happy with what we have."

The Mexico international stated last week: "Who could refuse to play with (Lionel) Messi for four months and then return to Los Angeles? Enjoy, learn and then come home."
