Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola is chasing Valencia midfielder David Silva.

Sport says Guardiola rates Silva alongside his former Barca teammate Michael Laudrup and wants to bring the Spain international to the Nou Camp next season.

In January, Silva's teammate, David Villa, attracted a major £40 million offer from Barca - which was turned down by cash-strapped Valencia.
