Barcelona are locked in talks today with Arsenal for Thomas Vermaelen.
El Mundo Deportivo says Barca sports chief Raul Sanllehí flew to London yesterday to make a final effort to agree terms with Arsenal for Vermaelen.
Sanllehí is turning to Vermaelen after failing to find agreement with PSG for Marquinhos. A loan deal was proposed, but immediately rejected by the Brazilian.
Instead, Barca are focusing on Vermaelen and will make one final effort to close an agreement today.
Along with keeping his fee low, Barca also will require Vermaelen to undergo an extensive medical due to fitness concerns for the Belgium international.
