Barcelona vice-president Juame Ferrer has confirmed they're on the brink of landing David Villa. Speaking with TV3, Ferrer revealed the transfer of the Valencia star was "being carried out".

"Txiki and Guardiola have asked for him," added Ferrer, confirming sports director Txiki Begiristain and coach Pep Guardiola are both keen to sign the forward.

The Barca chief also admitted talks for Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas were continuing.

"It's something that is being managed," he added.
