Barcelona captain Sergi Busquets has rapped president Joan Laporta over comments about the Spain squad.

Laporta says the success of Spain is thanks to Barca and coach Xavi given the number of Blaugrana players involved.

"The president had a Barcelona streak," declared Busquets.

"Xavi has the merit of giving (Alejandro) Balde more prominence, of signing Ferran (Torres) ... But all the others were already in the national team before Xavi arrived on the bench.

"Although we are important Barça players, the merit belongs to the squad, especially the coach, and of the colleagues who help us here."
