Barcelona and Sergi Roberto have reached an agreement over a new deal.

The base of the negotiation was advanced and only a few details remained to be finalised, which have been solved without major problems, says Sport.

The player had already given his 'yes' to the Blaugrana proposal and now all that's left was to set a day to make the announcement public, and sign it posing for the photos.

Xavi asked for his renewal and Barça did not want to delay the issue any longer as all the circumstances were favourable.

Roberto has agreed to sign for one more season, until June 2024, with the option of a second depending on appearances and success.
