Barcelona captain Sergi Busquets is yet to agree to a deferral of a percentage of his wages.

Barca want the midfielder to defer part of his salary for the coming season in order to make room in their wage cap to register their new additions.

Mundo Deportivo says Busquets waived all bonuses last season - on top of accepting a 12 per cent salary cut the previous campaign under former president Josep Maria Bartomeu.

With a year to run on his current deal, Buquests is willing to defer part of his wages, though there's an issue about his status beyond next summer.

There's concern on Busquets' side that LaLiga may block his outstanding wages being paid by Barca if he is not a registered Blaugrana player. The veteran is considering a move to MLS for the 2024 season in the US.
