BARCELONA: Spanish giants Barcelona have recorded all three points as a largely second-string line-up got the job done against Russia's Rubin Kazan.
Andreu Fontas put the home side ahead six minutes into the second half when his shot struck Rubin midfielder Vitali Kaleshin before rolling into the back of the net before Victor Vazquez made it 2-0 in the 82nd minute with a curling shot from the edge of the area.
David Villa, Xavi, Pedro Rodriguez and Dani Alves were given the night off, while Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, Carles Puyol and Victor Valdes started on the bench but it didn't stop the Catalan club from taking top spot in Group D as Rubin go into the Europa League draw.
