AC Milan chief Barbara Berlusconi is convinced a new stadium is the right move for the club.
Berlusconi was speaking at an Audi event.
"We believe we've presented a great project," Berlusconi said, with the plans currently being viewed by the city council.
"We're awaiting a response from Fondazione Fiera. Soon we'll meet with [Inter President Erick] Thohir to talk about San Siro ahead of [next year's] Champions League final.
"We're focused on the Portello area, and we haven't considered other possibilities, although they do exist.
"We have so many goals, some of which - like Casa Milan - we have achieved, while others - such as the stadium - are very important.
"As soon as Fiera vote, we can start contacting companies who would work with us on this project."
