Barry Bannan is on the outer at Crystal Palace after being told he can leave the club.

The 25-year-old midfielder spent the second part of last season on loan at Bolton after falling down the pecking order at Selhurst Park and is unlikely to be given any further chances in south London following the arrival of Yohan Cabaye from Paris Saint-Germain.

Scotland international Bannan joined Palace from Aston Villa in the summer of 2013 but has made just 27 appearances in all competitions for the Eagles and is now expected to depart the club after being left out of the pre-season tour to South Africa.
