Mino Raiola is in talks with Liverpool about releasing striker Mario Balotelli for loan this month.

Il Messaggero says Raiola is trying to persuade Liverpool to cut their losses on Balotelli and loan him back to Serie A.

Napoli, managed by former Reds chief Rafa Benitez, are understood to be interested in securing a six-month loan deal for the player should Raiola succeed in her negotiations with the club.

Balotelli only joined the Reds over the summer in a £16m move from AC Milan.
