Michael Ballack is anxious to see Frank Lampard commit himself to Chelsea.
"It's his decision but he knows everyone here is behind him."
Ballack is convinced new boss Phil Scolari's arrival means Chelsea's future is in safe hands.
The German added: "My first impressions are that he's a very friendly person. I think we will be a better team without the uncertainty of last season. Towards the end of the season you could see we were in very good shape again.
"We were a millimetre behind Manchester United last time and this time we will look to be first."
