Ballack: Chelsea players happy to welcome me back

Michael Ballack admits he loves life at Chelsea.

After a difficult period under former manager Jose Mourinho, Ballack is now firmly one of the boys at Chelsea.

He was given an extended summer break by new boss Phil Scolari after leading Germany to the final of Euro 2008 and then marrying his long-term partner.

He revealed: "All the players are so happy to see me back that they clapped me when I arrived at the hotel yesterday and again today when I went back on to the pitch.

"I've just been talking to Peter Kenyon and told him that I want to sign a new five-year contract. So now I have a bit of a problem!"

Ballack added: "No, I'm happy at Chelsea with the contract I have.

"I'll see what the next months bring but there is no need to rush. I'm quite relaxed about my situation.

"I am playing in the best league in the world with one of the strongest teams."
