AZ Alkmaar fullback Simon Poulsen has welcomed rumours linking him with Aston Villa.

The Dane is being watched by Villa leading up to the January market.

"I know nothing about Aston Villa's interest in me. I've only heard from the media," said Poulsen.

"Only when something concrete happens, will I be notified by my agent. So Aston Villa, what can I say? It's a nice club."
