Brett Holman netted an important second-half goal as AZ Alkmaar recorded a 2-0 victory at home against VVV Venlo in Holland overnight.
The Australian international added to Jeremain Lens' 21st minute strike when he ran onto a headed ball and struck into the top right corner just two minutes after the break to make it 2-0.
The win saw Alkmaar remain in 6th place on the Dutch Eredivisie table and took their unbeaten run in the league to four matches.
