Ayoze Perez says he feels fresh at Newcastle United after a recent break.

The striker revealed that the mini-break from the frontline had done him the world of good.

Perez told the Evening Chronicle: "Sometimes a player needs a bit of a rest. I think it's good - I don't have a problem.

"Rest is good sometimes. I feel better. I feel fresh now, and it's good for me. If he wants me to play, I'm ready."
