AVB urges Tottenham to finish season strongly

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has implored his players to end the campaign as strongly as they can in order to qualify for the Champions League.

Spurs produced a stunning comeback to beat Manchester City 3-1 at White Hart Lane today thanks to late goals from Clint Dempsey, Jermain Defoe and Gareth Bale following Samir Nasri's early opener.

The win kept Tottenham fifth on the table, still in arrears of Arsenal and Chelsea, but Villas-Boas feels a top-four spot is certainly up for grabs if they can continue today's form in their remaining fixtures.

"I think it was very important for the team to come back," he told Sky Sports. "In the first half we couldn't play our game the way we wanted the set back of suffering a goal so early affected our confidence.

"We have to continue, Wigan away (next weekend) will be difficult because Wigan are fighting for survival. You just have to gather the most amount of points as possible - that is our objective. Our (postponed) game against Chelsea could be the decider in the end."
