Auxerre signing Kays Ruiz-Atil breaks silence on Barcelona bust-up

Auxerre signing Kays Ruiz-Atil has broken his silence on his issues with Barcelona last season.

Having returned to his former junior club from PSG last summer, Ruiz-Atil was bombed out of Barca B due to discipline issues.

He explained to L'Yonne Républicaine, “ If it bothers me to be presented as an unstable player? No, I don't mind, I know it's a bit of bull***t all that... I adapt to what people say without paying too much attention to it and I stay focused on my work. It's true that sometimes it's not very easy to hear, it can take a toll on the mind, but I stay strong in my head and I work to prove the opposite.

"I have been talked about for a long time because of my career? It's been since I was little, it's true, but we adapt, we deal with it. I don't pay much attention to what people say or think about me, nor do those around me. We focus on the work and we will see later what it can give.

"Isn't it tiring to always hear the word 'hope'? A little true. I want to turn a corner and remove this label. I want to prove what I am capable of and I hope that I will do it this season.

“Why did I decide to join AJA? Auxerre has just moved up to Ligue 1. It's a very good club. I spoke with the coach and the president who explained to me what they expected and how it worked. I was really seduced by the project. I want to take a step forward this season.

"A big gap after PSG and Barcelona? Yes it makes a difference, but after that it's a very family club and I really like that.

"How is my integration going? Everything is fine. My adaptation went well. We have a very good group that lives well and welcomed me very well. And apart from football, I really liked the city and the people, so I'm very happy so far."
