Australia national team boss Holger Osieck has admitted that Adam Sarota is a wanted man.
The 22-year old FC Utrecht midfielder is currently in international limbo with his father's country of origin, Poland, interested in his services as well as Australia.
But the ex-Brisbane Roar man could play some first team minutes for Australia against Germany on Wednesday morning which would make him automatically select the Socceroos as his team of choice.
Osieck says it is vital for the future of Australian football if players such as Sarota pledge their allegiance to the national team.
"If we don't make any effort to talk to them and to give them the idea that we are interested in them, then of course they go for the other option," he said.
"Now we have clearly indicated, yes, we are interested.
"He did well in the camp, so far he is OK in training and he showed a level of commitment.
"I am pretty sure if you are pro-active then the players will respond positively."
