Australia to take on South Africa in World Cup warm-up

Football Federation Australia are reportedly close to announcing a friendly with South Africa.

Sowetan Live reports that the Australian national team will take on Bafana Bafana at Sydney's ANZ Stadium on May 26 as a lead-up to the FIFA World Cup.

The Socceroos take on Ecuador in London on March 6 and are also trying to finalise plans for a couple of warm-up games in Brazil ahead of the June tournament.

Ange Postecoglou's side meets reigning champions Spain, runners-up Holland and South American nation Chile in Group B of the 2014 World Cup.
