Shrewsbury Town midfielder James Wesolowski is targeting a return to the first-team before the end of the season after being given the go-ahead to resume full training following injury.
The Australian, 28, has been out for six months with knee ligament damage and wants to return as fast as he can.
"It's bad watching the boys win as you want to be involved, but at the same time it's good," Wesolowski said.
"I'm pretty much into full training and we've got a few reserve games coming."
"You want to play, but I know I've got to be smart," he added to BBC Radio Shropshire.
"I've got to make sure I'm right because if I do it again that'll be a disaster."
But with 10 games to go, Wesolowski wants to help the club guarantee their League One status.
"I'm looking to play a few games before the end of the season," he said.
"Even though I've been injured, I love it here and I know I need to come back and help the team out because I owe it to the club."
