Fabio Aurelio has urged the Liverpool board to reach an agreement with Rafa Benitez over a new contract.

"It is essential that Liverpool must try to keep him," he said. "In almost every year he has got to the final stages of the Champions League and we have been getting closer to the title.

"It was a big disappointment for Valencia when Rafa left."
