Augsburg hero Ji named Bundesliga Player of the Week

Ji Dong-won has been voted as the Player of the Week on the German Bundesliga's official website.

The South Korean striker came off the bench in the 70th minute to score an immediate equaliser for FC Augsburg in their 2-2 draw with Borussia Dortmund on the weekend.

Ji returned to Augsburg from Sunderland earlier this month, signing a six-month deal, and was on hand to head home Andre Kahn's 72nd-minute cross in his second debut for die Fuggerstadter.

Despite playing just 20 minutes, Ji, who will join Dortmund at the end of the season, was named the Bundesliga Player of the Week after receiving 57% of the fans votes.

The former Chunnam Dragon forward beat off competition from Bayern Munich's Thomas Muller (16%), Hannover's Leonardo Bittencourt (14%), Schalke's Jefferson Farfan (9%), Freiburg's Jonathan Schmidt (2%) and Nurnberg's Josip Drmic (also 2%).
