Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa is facing an eight match ban after his meltdown at Barcelona.

Costa was sent off after abusing referee Jesus Gil Manzano in Saturday's 2-0 defeat.

Cadena Cope reports he'll be given an eight-match ban for his actions.

The Spanish FA's competition committee are set to suspended the player for four matches for the insult and for four matches for grabbing the official.

There are only seven matches left in the league in the 2018/19 season, so he would miss the rest of the campaign.
