Atletico Madrid assistant manager German Burgos admits Fernando Torres will be their player later this week.

AC Milan have signed Torres permanently from Chelsea in the last 24 hours, but will then sell him onto Atletico.

"We're on the verge of closing the deal and just waiting for confirmation," said Burgos after a charity match at Estadio Fernando Torres in Fuenlabrada today.

"He'll be a very important reinforcement for the second half of the season. We'll get the best out of him, as we do for every player. He knows where he's coming to."
